# Gradient Institute

> Gradient Institute is an independent not-for-profit research organisation based in Sydney, Australia, working for the safe, responsible, and human-centred adoption of artificial intelligence. We conduct research, advise governments and enterprises, and educate practitioners on the technical and societal implications of AI.

Gradient Institute exists to bring scientific clarity to how AI is built, governed, and deployed. We work directly with policymakers, regulators, and large-scale AI deployers (including financial institutions and insurers) to translate research into operational practice.
